School Year 2009 2010 Semester 2

Story:

Awake, awake, the sun is shining bright.

He drives away the long, dark night.

The moon and the stars have gone to rest.

And earth in softest green is dressed.

Now we will open our heart

Of this great world we are all part.

And if we work, or sleep, or play,

Be with us, golden sun this day.

…/…

Caterpillar, crawling so slow,

Caterpillar, let me help you go,

Carrying my caterpillar showing all my friends

Caterpillar crawled somewhere…

I don’t know where he is.

Caterpillar, where did you go?

Caterpillar, crawling down my nose,

Caterpillar, crawling up the tree,

Caterpillar, eating all the leaves,

Caterpillar, getting big and round,

Caterpillar finds a branch to spin all around.

In his cocoon sleeping for some time

Dreams until he grows some wings

And becomes a butterfly.

Wake up! Wake up!

Morning verse:

The golden sun so great and bright

Warms the world with all its might,

It makes the dark earth green and fair

And tends each flower with ceaseless care.

It shines on blossom, stone and tree,

On bird and beast, on you and me.

May each day, throughout the year

Be bright and fair and true

Good morning to you

And good morning to me.

Song:

Good morning dear Earth,

Good morning dear Sun,

Good morning dear stones

And flowers everyone.

Good morning dear beasts

And birds in the tree.

Good morning to you

And good morning to me.

Poem:

There are many things that I can do.

I can comb my hair and lace my shoe.

I can wash my hands and wash my face.

I can put my toys and blocks in place.

Song:

Blue bird, blue bird, through my window,
Oh Johnny I’m tired

Red bird / Yellow bird / Green bird…

Song:

In the springtime garden,

Rosy morning glow,

Sunshine calling, falling, calling

Flowers wake and grow.

…/…

Little brown brother, oh, little brown brother

Are you awake in the dark?

Here we lie cozily, close to each other,

Waken, the lark says, and dress you,

Put on your green coat and yellow

Blue sky will shine on you,

Wake up! This is morning! This is May!

Little brown brother, oh, little brown brother,

What kind of flower will you be?

I will be a poppy, all red like my mother,

I will be a sunflower, when I am golden.

I will be a jasmine! I will be a jasmine!

Please send all the bees up to me.

Little brown brother, Spring is here!

…/…

To Earth I come

To greet the light, To greet the sun,

The stones which rest, The plants which grow,

The beasts which run, To greet all men,

Who live and walk Who work and will.

…/…

What a beautiful jasmine flower
What a beautiful jasmine flower
Sweet-smelling, beautiful, stems full of buds
Fragrant and white, everyone praises
Let me pluck you down
Give to someone
Jasmine flower, oh jasmine flower

Poem:

Little flowers, little flowers,

With your colors bright.

Look above now to the sky

Full of warmth and light.

Praise the lovely golden sun,

He who gave us birth.

Little flowers, fallen stars,

Shining on the earth.

Song:

Sow the seeds in the ground below
Add the sun and the rain
See the flowers grow
I can see in front of me
A jasmine as pretty as can be

Poem

Lilies are white. Rosemary’s green

When you are king I will be queen.

Roses are red. Lavender’s blue.

If you will have me, I will have you.

Song:

O Dandelion, yellow as gold,

What do you do all day?

I just wait here in the tall, green grass

Till the children come to play.

Poem:

Ee, ee, ee says the bee

As it flies to the highest tree.

Ah, ah, ah says the star

As it guards us from afar.

Oh, oh, oh says the gnome

As it goes to its earthy home.

Story:

Once upon a time, there is a meadow. In summer, there are many beautiful flowers, yellow, white, blue, purple, orange, red, pink and white. There is also a sunflower standing alone in the meadow. Everybody is busy. Birds sing. Butterflies dance. Bees fly with their Fire Fairies on the back.

One day, a little bee comes to the sunflower to look for the seeds. “Look! Look! One little seed is awake! Good morning, little seed. I am the Fire Fairy. I have a special gift for you... A beautiful radiant golden blanket wrapped in seven layers of silk, one for every color of the rainbow. I have made it just for you. You will need it very soon for your long journey.” “Oh, thank you, dear Fire Fairy for this beautiful gift.” Then the Fire Fairy climbs on the bee and they fly away. “Wait for Brother Wind to bring you to Mother Earth.”

…/…

I am the Sun And I bear with my might

The Earth by day, the Earth by night.

I hold her fast, and my gifts I bestow

To everything on her, so that it may grow:

Song

We are one in the infinite sun,

Forever and ever and ever.

Song:

Can you guess who has the ring
As we pass it on the string?
Move it left and move it right
Always keep it out of sight

Song:

Billy the bee, as busy is he,

Among all the flowers,

He spends many hours.

Chant:

Five little fishies, swimming in a pool

The first one said, "The pool is cool."

The second one said, "The pool is deep."

The third one said, "I want to sleep."

The fourth one said, "Let's take a dip."

The fifth one said, "I spy a ship."

Fisher boat comes,

Line goes ker splash

Away the five little fishies dash

Story: The Little Girl and The Moon
Once upon a time there is a little girl. She likes to sit outside at night and talk to the moon. ‘Good evening Moon, today is Monday. It is sunny.’
One night she sees the moon is tired, so she climbs upon the roof, to tell the moon a secret. ‘Let me help you.’
She takes the moon in her hands and puts it in her pocket. Then she climbs down and goes into her room. There she takes the moon out and lays it on her bed. They talk and talk.
Then they hear people asking where the moon is. ‘Outside is so dark. I can not see the moon. Where is the moon?’
The old moon says to the little girl. ‘Maybe you should put me back into the sky, so the people can find their way home at night'.
The little girl picks up the moon, puts it back into her pocket and goes outside. It is very dark, but she is not afraid. The moon shows her the way. She takes the moon out of her pocket and helps her go back in the nighttime sky.
And the people are happy. They are shouting and laughing: ‘Moon, moon, the moon is back. Let’s go out!’
Morning verse:
In soft morning light, the stars fade away.
The birds soon awake. This is a new day.
Awake, awake, shine like the sun.
Give light and love to everyone.
Down is the earth, up is the sky.
There are my friends, and here am I.
Good morning to you, and good morning to me.
Song:
Good morning, good morning, Good morning to you.
Good morning’s what we say, Good morning’s what we do
Good morning, good morning, Good morning to you.
Song:
Which is the way to fairy land,
To fairy land, to fairy land?
Which is the way to fairy land,
To dance by the light of the moon?

November December 2009
Story:
Let’s go walking in the cold.
Walking, walking on tiptoe.
Lift your one foot way up high.
Then the other to keep it dry.
All around the yard we skip,
Watch your step, or you might slip.
…Now into the forest we’ll go.
Where the trees are covered with cold.
Sad is the forest, silence is king.
Not a movement: no bird can sing.
All the flowers have fallen asleep.
Winter is long. Winter is deep.
Poem: Enter the light
Enter the night and you'll find the light,
Enter the night, let your spirit take flight,
On the longest night we search for the light,
So when you find that spark
When you dream in the dark
Hold it close to your heart and know.
All that you see is all that can be
When you give birth to the dreams.
Poem: Silent Night
Silent night, Solstice Night
All is calm; all is bright
Nature slumbers in forest and glen
Sleeping spirits grow strong!
Silent night, Solstice night
Silver moon shining bright
Song:
Where are the rabbits where the North Winds blow?
We can not see them in the ice and snow.
Deep deep down in the mud they lie,
Rabbits sleeping with tight closed eyes.
Chant: Spirit of Fire
Spirit of fire come to us, we will kindle the fire
Spirit of fire come to us, we will kindle the fire
We will kindle the fire, dance the magic circle 'round
We will kindle the fire, we will kindle the fire

January February 2010
Story:
Once upon a time, a tiger walks in the forest. It is cold. It is dark. He is hungry. He is sad. He is alone. All the other animals are hiding.
At last, he sees a mouse, an ox, a rabbit, and a dragon: ‘Please help me. I am hungry. Please help me find some food.’ And the animals reply: ‘No, we know you. If we give you food, you might bite us as well.’
Later, he sees a snake, a horse, a ram, and a monkey: ‘Please help me. I am hungry. Please help me find some food.’ And the animals reply: ‘No, we know you. If we give you food, you might bite us as well.’
Finally, he sees a rooster, a dog and a boar: ‘Please help me. I am hungry. Please help me find some food.’ And the animals reply: ‘No, we know you. If we give you food, you might bite us as well.’
The tiger cries. ‘Nobody trusts me. Nobody believes me. But I am so brave, competitive, generous, intelligent and charming.’ The tiger comes back home. He opens the door…
Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Chinese New Year! Welcome to the year of the tiger.’ The mouse, the ox, the rabbit, the dragon all the other animals are there cheering and singing. ‘Quick!  Let’s clean up the house. Let’s paste some red color paper-cuts. Let’s give some money in red paper envelopes. Let’s eat… fish, dumplings, oranges, melon seeds, nian gao, noodles and sweet cakes!’
And the animals walk outside asking people: ‘Are you a tiger? If you are a tiger, raise your hand!’
Song:
Rose red is the evening sky.
Do, do let us go on our evening walk.
Tomorrow may be dull and gray.
Do, do let us go on our evening walk.
Song: Tiger
I’m a great big tiger.
You can hear me roar.
I have eaten so much,
But I want more and more…
Game:
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,
Catch a tiger by the toe.
If he hollers let him go,
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
My mother told me to pick
The very best one,
And that is Y-O-U.
