Story: The Lion
and the Mouse
Once upon a time,
a Lion is asleep. A little Mouse is running up and down. The lion opens his eyes. He catches the little
mouse. He opens his big jaws to swallow him.
The little mouse
cries: "Pardon me, O King! Forgive me this time, I shall never forget it. Who knows but what I may be able to do you a
turn some of these days?" Some time after the Lion is caught in a trap. The hunters tie him to a tree. The little
Mouse sees the lion. She goes up to him. She eats away the ropes. "You see. Was I not right?" said the little Mouse.
Finger clapping:
When I was one I
ate a bun, Going over the sea. I jumped aboard a sailorman's ship, And the sailorman said to me, 'Going over, going
under, Stand at attention like a soldier, With a one, two, and three.Ó
When I was two I
buckled my shoe, / When I was three
I banged my knee, When I was four I shut the door, / When I was five I learned to jive, When I was six I picked up sticks,
/ When I was seven I went to heaven, When I was eight I learned to
skate, / When I was nine I climbed
a vine, When I was ten I caught a hen,
Conclusion:
The sun with loving
light makes bright for me each day.
The soul with spirit
power gives strength into my limbs.
In sunlight shining
clear, I reverence, O God,
The strength of
humankind, which thou, so graciously, Hast planted in my soul.
That I, with all
my might, may love to work and learn
From thee comes
light and strength, to thee rise love and thanks.

Story: Aesop Fable: The Fox and the Goat Aesop for Children (1919)73. THE FOX AND THE GOAT A Fox fell into a well,
and though it was not very deep, he found that he could not get out again. After he had been in the well a long time, a thirsty
Goat came by. The Goat thought the Fox had gone down to drink, and so he asked if the water was good. "The finest in the
whole country," said the crafty Fox, "jump in and try it. There is more than enough for both of us." The thirsty Goat immediately
jumped in and began to drink. The Fox just as quickly jumped on the Goat's back and leaped from the tip of the Goat's horns
out of the well. The foolish Goat now saw what a plight he had got into, and begged the Fox to help him out. But the Fox
was already on his way to the woods. "If you had as much sense as you have beard, old fellow," he said as he ran, "you
would have been more cautious about finding a way to get out again before you jumped in." Look before you leap.
