Where is Mary? Where is Mary? Here I am. Here I am.
How are you today, Mary? Very well, I thank you.
Girls and boys come out to play.
The moon shines as bright as day.
Leave your supper and leave your sleep.
And come to your playfellows in the street.
Song:
When we tell a story, we sit altogether.
Today’s story will begin soon.
Story of the Anxious Leaf:
Once upon a time a little leaf is crying.
The twig says: What’s the matter with you?
The wind, one day, will pull me off and throw me down to the ground.
The branch says: What’s the matter with you?
The wind, one day, will pull me off and throw me down to the ground.
The tree says: What’s the matter with you?
The wind, one day, will pull me off and throw me down to the ground.
The twig says: Do not worry. Hold on tightly.
You shall not go until you are ready.
The branch says: Do not worry. Hold on tightly.
You shall not go until you are ready.
The tree says: Do not worry. Hold on tightly.
You shall not go until you are ready.
The little leaf is happy. She is dancing. She is singing.
The leaves of the trees turn yellow, orange, red and brown.
I want to go! I want to go! I want to go!
Song:
The leaves of the trees turn brown and brown.
All through the town.
Song:
The leaves are falling down. The leaves are falling down.
School is here and fall is near. The leaves are falling down.
Song:
Doh doh, darling doh. Darling soon to sleep will go.
Now it is September. Trees are nearly bare.
Red and gold and brown leaves Scatter everywhere.
Busy are all creatures. Winter food to hide.
Nests to make all cozy. Warm and safe inside.
Golden is the garden, Golden is the glen,
Golden, golden, golden, September is here again.
Golden are the tree tops, Golden is the sky,
Golden, golden, golden, September is here again.
Eeny meeny miny moe, catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers, let him go. My mother told me to choose the very best one,
and this is you.
The farmer in the dell, the farmer in the dell,
Hi-ho the Derry Ho, the farmer in the dell.
The farmer takes a wife, the farmer takes a wife,
Hi-ho the Derry Ho, the farmer takes a wife.
The wife takes a child, nurse, cow, dog, cat, rat, cheese,
The cheese stands alone, the cheese stands alone,
Hi-ho the Derry Ho, the cheese stands alone.
Girls and boys come out to play. The moon doth shine as bright as day.
Leave your supper and leave your sleep And come to your playfellows in the street.

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed. One fell off and bumped his head.
Mama called the doctor. Doctor said: No more little monkey jumping on the bed.

Five little fishies swimming in the pool
First one said: The pool is cool.
Second one said: The pool is deep.
Third one said: I want to sleep
Fourth one said: Let’s dive and dip.
Fifth one said: I spy a ship
Fisherman’s boat comes
Line goes ker-splash
Away the five little fishies dash.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground. Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around.

Why did you let it go? Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite? The little finger on the right.

Number 1 is big and tall, stand him up so he won’t fall.
Number 2 goes backwards and along, please make sure you don’t go wrong.
Two little curls for number 3, one for you and one for me.
Number 4 goes down and across, give him a stick so he’s the boss.
Number 5 is a funny chap, down fat tummy and give him a hat.
Number 6 looks like a curl in your hair, twiddle it around to show that it’s there,
Number 7 starts with a hat, then goes down just like that,
Number eight makes an ‘S’ then go back to join it up.
Number 9 is like a ball on a stick, start with a ‘C’ then go up and down quick.
Number 10, that’s a lot of fun, write 1 and a nought and now it’s all done!

One sun, two suns, three suns, four suns, five suns,
Six suns, seven suns, eight suns, nine suns, ten suns…
It is hot. It is warm. It is hot. It is warm.
Please help me. Please help me. I am HoYi. I am HoYi.
Thank you, HoYi. Here is a pill.
I am Chang’E. (swallow the pill) I can fly.

The moon on one hand. The sun on the other.
The moon is my sister. The sun is my brother.
The moon on my left. The sun on my right.
My brother good morning. My sister good night.
A sailor went to sea To see what he could see.
But all that he could see Was the bottom of the deep blue sea.
With my hands I clap, clap, clap, With my feet I tap, tap, tap,
One step here, one step there, Round about as light as air, la, la, la.
With my finger, I tick, tick, tick, With my head, I nick, nick, nick,
One step here, one step there, Round about as light as air, la, la, la.
Morning Warm up Poems for beginning the class.
I touch the sky (raise hands up high)
I touch my feet (touch feet with both hands, knees straight)
I clap my hands (turn 360’ in place, clapping hands to stressed syllables of verse.)
On every beat.
Without a sound (turn 360’ in place again, but no clapping)
I turn around,
And this new day (greet the day and the class by bringing bent arms out from the chest, straightening arms forward and
down with open palms, while slightly bowing the head.)
I humbly greet.
Funny role play to introduce different pet animals, different basic questions in English and the difference of language
between human and animals…
One day, I met a little cat. I said: Hello, cat. He said: Meaow, meaow.
I said: How are you today? He said: Meaow, meaow.
I said: What’s your name? He said: Meaow, meaow.
I said: How old are you? He said: Meaow, meaow.
I said: Where are you going? He said: Meaow, meaow.
So I said: Good bye, cat.
… dog / woof, bird / kwik kwik, duck / quack, fish / buh buh, mouse / cree cree…
Two little feet go tap, tap, tap,
Two little hands go clap, clap, clap,
A quick little leap up from the chair;
Two little hands fly up in the air.
Two little fists go bump, bump, bump,
Two little feet go jump, jump, jump,
One little body turns round, round, round,
And one little child sits quietly down.
Welcome, welcome
Welcome to our table
Welcome, welcome
We all join hands together. (We sing this until every one is sitting)
Snack Time Blessing
Earth who gives to us this food.
Sun who makes it ripe and good.
Sun above and earth below,
Our loving thanks to you we show.
Blessings on our meal.
The silver rain, the shining sun
The fields where scarlet poppies run,
And all the ripples of the wheat
Are in the bread that we do eat.
So when we sit for every meal
And say a grace: we always feel
That we are eating rain and sun,
And fields where scarlet poppies run
Come little leaves, said the wind one day,
Come o’er the meadow with me to play,
Put on your dresses of red and gold,
Summer is gone and the days grow cold.
London Bridge is falling down…
Down is the earth, up is the sky
There are my friends, and here am I. Here am I.
Good morning to you. Good morning to me.
September is the harvest moon.
October is the hunter’s moon.
Here is Little Mouse. He is looking for food.
He sees farmers harvest. Apples, grapes, wheat, corn, cereal, potatoes, tomatoes…
It’s fall. Summer is gone and the days grow cold.
Leaves are falling on the path.
Can little mouse find his way home?
In the autumn all the little gnomes are busy deep down in the earth. They are making the brown earth beds ready for the
Seed Children. They are mixing good rich broth to feed them in the winter.
One day the King of the Gnomes sends for the Little Gnome and tells him: ‘Go up above the earth and see if Seed
Children are ready to come to bed.’ The Little Gnome climbs up through the dark ground.
When he pops out above ground it is so light and bright he is nearly blinded.
He asks birds flying overhead: ‘Birds, birds, are the Seed Children ready to come to bed?’
‘Good-bye! Good-bye!’ Call the birds. We are flying South to keep warm all winter!
‘Why can they not answer to me? Growls the Littlest Gnome, stamping his feet.
Then he asks the red and yellow leaves falling: ‘Leaves, are the Seed Children ready to come to bed?’
They pay no attention. They go on falling slowly and softly, turning in the wind.
Then he asks the yellow and purple flowers: ‘Flowers, are the Seed Children ready to come to bed?’
But they pay no attention at all. They just go on turning their face to the warm autumn sun.
Poem
Now it is November, Trees are nearly bare. Red and gold and brown leaves Scatter everywhere.
Busy are all creatures, Winter food to hide; Nests to make all cozy, Warm and safe inside.
Story
The Little Gnome is angry. He comes back to the Gnome King.
The King asks: ‘Are the Seed Children ready to come to bed?’
The Little Gnome answers: ‘Nobody would tell me!’
He tells the King: ‘Birds are flying South. Leaves are falling. Flowers are sunbathing.’
But the King says: ‘The birds and the leaves and the flowers are right.
They are all doing what they should do. Quick. Let's welcome the seed children to bed.’
